Emily and Simon invited me down to New York to shoot their wedding at Crest Hollow Country Club. I don’t usually travel outside of New England for weddings, so this was a fun getaway for the weekend. It was one of those hot, hot days this summer, forcing them to move their ceremony indoors, but luckily Crest Hollow had an amazing alternative ceremony space that surpassed Emily and Simon’s expectations. The rest of the afternoon was just as beautiful and filled with so much love and laughter, which I think is evident in the images from the day!

OPEN POSTWileen, Courtney, and I drove out to Wellesley, where Wileen went to school, for this engagement session. I always thought my college campus was pretty, but Wellesley has given me second thoughts. I imagine if I’d gone to Wellesley I’d take so many walks, explore in the woods, or lay out on the grass all the time–it is just so lush, and so, so pretty there, and I would never get any work done. :)Β We strolled along the lake (or was it a pond?) and found so many beautiful spaces in which to take photographs. I honestly wish we’d had more time there, and that the sun would hang just above the horizon forever for us.
Wileen and Courtney will be getting married this weekend in the gardens at Elm Bank, and I can’t be more excited for it! Until then, here are my favorites from their engagement shoot..
OPEN POSTI met up with Donna and Philip in the early morning at the ICA, and then we headed to Christopher Columbus Park for the rest of this engagement session. Β They were so generous and brought along some muffins and juice for sustenance, as well a couple of wedding-related details for me to capture, including two of the many cranes Donna has been folding for the wedding decor and the engagement ring that Philip originally designed and casted for her. I think it’s so wonderful that their wedding will have a lot of handmade details because it shows just how much love they are pouring into their big day!
The weather ended up being perfect for us, with the hazy sky creating diffused lighting that really allowed Donna’s pink dress to pop. Donna and Philip really made this session so easy, and I have so many favorites! I am so, so excited to be photographing their wedding in just a few weeks at the Colonnade Hotel.
OPEN POSTVikki and KyleΒ met at MIT and lived in Brookline together during their time in college, so it only made sense for them to choose to do their engagement session in parts of their old neighborhood and on the MIT campus in Cambridge. They currently live in New York and I’d only previously had contact with them over e-mail, so it was fun to finally meet them and walk around some of their favorite places with them. We were able to make get a great collection of images from the session, and this only makes me even more excited to shoot their wedding this fall at the MIT Chapel and the Museum of Science!
OPEN POSTI love weddings that incorporate various cultures, beliefs, and traditions. They’re a little tricker to schedule and often mean a longer day, but in the end it also means doing whatever you can to include what’s most important to you and your families. Ha and Fuji were doubly ceremonious, starting the day off with a Vietnamese ceremony in the morning followed by a Catholic ceremony at St. Gregory in Dorchester in the afternoon.
We then headed to the Arnold Arboretum for some beautiful portraits of them with their bridal party and then ended the night with a reception at Hei La Moon in Boston’s Chinatown. Their friends and relatives traveled from all all over to celebrate and toast to them, and I could see that Ha and Fuji were so grateful for everyone’s presence, support, and generosity. As always, it was such an honor to be witness so much love!
