I first met Lorenna and Justin for their engagement session over a year ago, which we shot in/around MIT. Their wedding was held at Simmons Hall, also at MIT, and for those of you familiar with the campus at all, you know that Simmons is actually a residence hall.ย The ceremony was held on one of the terraces with a view of Boston across the Charles, and the reception took place in the dining hall on the first floor which they transformed into an intimate setting for a family-style dinner.ย I love that they wanted a meaningful space for their wedding day (it’s currently the place they call home while they are both MIT graduate students) and were able to pull it off. They were the first–and could very likely be the last–couple to ever hold their wedding there!
The day was filled with some fun science-related details, including putting their own twist to the traditional unity candle lighting (they poured two clear liquids together which turned blue when combined) and using scientific formulas as table names. Their dessert table included homemade cakes. All in all it was a fun-filled, love-filled day!
Some favorites..
Lorenna and Justin, thanks so much again for having me there! Wishing you both all the best!
OPEN POSTI know it ย looks like I’m going completely out of order–you just saw Allison and Steve’s wedding sneak peek and now you’re seeing their engagement session! With the many weddings and shoots I’ve had recently and all the sessions I still need to blog, this somehow makes sense in my head, so please bear with me. :)
I met up with Steve and Allison for the first time on the day of this shoot. They live in New York and we had chatted on the phone initially, but they finally found some time for photos during a recent trip back to Massachusetts. We got up early for this one, meeting at the ICA at 5:30am (yes, you read that correctly!). They were so sweet to bring me some OJ and some homemade muffins to help sustain me during the shoot. My clients are awesome! I only wish I had brought some coffee for Steve, who really needed it that morning. ;)
At the end of the session we walked over to Christopher Columbus Park, which has been a huge go-to spot for my engagement clients lately. I don’t blame my couples for wanting to go there though, it is fab!
More from their wedding day, soon!
OPEN POSTSneak peek for Allison & Steve who were married in Cape Cod last month!
OPEN POSTI met up with Liz and Jay a few weeks before the big day for their engagement session along the Esplanade. I first met them so long ago when they booked me for their wedding and then hadn’t seen them since. I am usually great with remembering faces, but I almost didn’t even recognize them when they waved at me from afar the day that we met for the shoot. ย I think at first glance I thought they were models. Seriously, they are a gorgeous couple! :) Their wedding day has come and gone, so you’ll see those images up on the blog soon!
Here are some of my favorites from the session. Such amazing light!
OPEN POSTI have much to blog, but here is a quick preview for Kate and Garrett, who are anxiously awaiting the rest of the images from their recent wedding at the Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA. :)
