A peek at Phiyen & Jackson, who will be getting married next month!
OPEN POSTA little preview of Christina and Matt!
Shot at the deCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA. SO excited to share the rest of the wedding soon!
OPEN POSTIn early June I had the pleasure of photographing Amanda & Christy’s wedding ceremony and celebration at Club Passim in Harvard Square in Cambridge. I was only there for three short and sweet hours, but this was more than enough to witness the enormous amount of love that filled their small venue. Such a happy day!
Thank you again, Amanda and Christy, for having me there to capture these moments!
OPEN POSTYou’ll remember Amy and Matt from their engagement session in Nahant. Their wedding took place at the Hotel Marlowe, a venue I didn’t even know existed (despite living so close by) until I heard about it from them. On the day of the wedding I almost drove past it because it blended in so well with the buildings around it, but once I got inside I was awing over the funky interior. Lots of warm, yellow walls and interesting artwork and decorative pieces adorn this place. You’ll notice in the room where Amy gets ready that there’s a huge sun-shaped mirror, the hint of a bright red couch, as well as a telescope to spy on passersby outside. Fun!
Amy and Matt had an intimate ceremony which included personalized music and sweet readings from a couple of dear friends. Later on, their reception was a blast, with guests having a ball on the dance floor. Sometimes I find it difficult to leave during the dancing because I enjoy the music too and love seeing everyone rock out. I always manage to start packing up my cameras once a fun song comes on, so I tell myself I’ll stay until it finishes…only to find out that, of course, another fun song comes on right after it. I think that night I finally tore myself away during “Single Ladies” by Beyonce..but it was really hard not to stay! ;)
Here are some of my favorites from the day:
Amy and Matt, thank you so much again for having me there on your special day! I had an amazing time!
OPEN POSTHow I let my blog neglect get so bad is beyond me. I wanted to make sure I got my next post in before June was officially over, so here goes! Here is the first of many posts (I think I have 4 more weddings and 1 engagement in the blogging queue as of today)!
Jenna and Scott were married on the first day of May at Wentworth by the Sea in New Hampshire. It was my first wedding where we did a formal “First Look,” where the couple decided to set aside some time to see each other before the ceremony. The beautiful thing about the First Look is that it really is just about getting to spend some quiet time together, just the two of you, before the day starts to feel like a blur. It really was a sweet moment for me to witness, especially after seeing Scott look so nervous as he waited for Jenna to arrive! And speaking of sweet, the personal vows they wrote to each other were incredibly moving. I could hear the whole room (including myself) sniffling and stifling sobs! If I remember correctly, there was even a collective deep breath as everyone contained themselves once the vows were done so that the officiant could continue with the rest of the ceremony. :)
Jenna and Scott also decided to do a lot of their bridal portraits prior to the ceremony. I rarely put any formal portraits up on the blog, mainly because they usually feel like they are exactly that–formal–and I don’t consider that my style; in this case, though, we did a lot of relaxed portraits so I thought I’d share a few.
Hope you enjoy!
Jenna and Scott, thanks again for letting me capture your day for you!
