February 11, 2011 Jill & Brian | State Room Wedding – Boston, MA

Jill and Brian had a beautiful Catholic ceremony at Our Lady of Victories followed by portraits at the Public Garden and then a night of cocktails and dancing at the State Room. This was my first time shooting in the State Room’s Great Room, which boasts not only a large and versatile, two-story venue for events but also floor-to-ceiling windows with magnificent views of the city. The space, flowing with the energy and love from Jill and Brian and their guests, made for an incredibly memorable night.

I also want to send out a huge thank you to Li Ward of Fat Orange Cat Studio who was my second shooter for the day and captured some great moments and details to add to the collection!

February 3, 2011 Stephanie & Andy | Seaport Hotel Wedding – Boston, MA

Stephanie and Andy were married at the Boston Seaport Hotel on the most popular date of the year– 10/10/10! This was such a fun wedding to photograph, mostly because Stephanie and Andy are two fun-loving, very positive people. They found a way to enjoy every ounce of the day, from laughing all throughout their ceremony to rocking it out on what was probably one of the liveliest dance floors I’ve seen this year. I love when people can make light of what is traditionally a day full of formalities, and Stephanie and Andy were definitely these type of people!

Emilie and Fiona of Pink Orchid Weddings really did an incredible job of coordinating to make sure the details of the day went smoothly.

January 27, 2011 Carey & Alex | Cambridge Riverside Wedding

There were so many things I loved about this wedding. My favorite had to be that Carey and Alex were married at the small patch of park right outside their home. Literally, they could see their guests settling into the lantern-adorned tent just outside their apartment window. If that isn’t the best thing ever, I don’t know what is! ;)

Another great thing: Carey and Alex decided to include a trivia game right before their ceremony as a fun way for guests to mingle and to get to know each other in addition to learning a little more about the bride and groom. Guests were split up into random teams and raced to answer questions about Carey and Alex–leading to a very funny and unique way to start the afternoon celebrations.

After the ceremony, we spent some time capturing portraits along the Charles on our walk to Harvest for their reception. It was such a cozy and intimate venue for a dinner, and it was the perfect way to end their night with their best friends and family.

January 26, 2011 New!

For my faithful followers, my blog might be looking a little different these days. My old site just wasn’t cutting it anymore, so with the new year I’ve done a bit of a blog reconstruction, and now it feels much more homey here and much more “me.” I’m excited to fill these pages with new content and get settled in.

To my new visitors: Welcome! I hope you stick around. :)

January 20, 2011 Stephanie & Andy | Boston Public Garden Engagement

I love shooting at the Public Garden, so when Stephanie suggested it as the location for her and Andy’s engagement session, I was more than happy to oblige! The Public Garden is often bustling with people, local and tourist alike, but what I love most about both visiting and photographing there is that you can still always find quiet spots to sit or take in the scenery. When you’re there, it’s hard to remember that just beyond the trees is busy city life!

My favorite sessions are ones where couples spend the entire time laughing and can’t keep their eyes and hands off of each other. Luckily for me, Stephanie and Andy gave me exactly that type of session.Β  We really had fun with the location, too, drifting to all different spots around the pond and garden.

Fun fact: Stephanie was referred to me by Emilie of Pink Orchid Weddings and after getting in touch with Stephanie, I soon learned that she also knows Min and Richie. She knows them quite well, actually, as it turns out that Stephanie is Richie’s sister! I love how small the world is. :)
