I just wanted to share a few images of my travels during the first ten days of 2011!
I miss Oahu, but it’s given me time to refresh my mind and gear up for the upcoming year. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one. How could it not be, starting off with sights like this? :)
I’m looking forward to sharing my last bunch of weddings and engagements from the past few months! Stay tuned!
OPEN POSTRemember Lisa and Brian? After seeing them together for their engagement session, I had even more reason to look forward to their wedding. I wasn’t disappointed–Lisa and Brian were so sweet together as always, reciting their own vows for the ceremony (officiated by Brian’s sister!), and the best part was that their family and friends helped to make the day even more memorable by rocking it out on the dance floor all night at the reception afterward. Seriously, all smiles and laughter and letting loose!
The wedding took place at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, first with the intimate ceremony in the courtyard and then reception at the Regattabar. Lisa and Brian opted to see each other before the ceremony so we were able to take our time with their portraits. I love it when a couple decides to do a First Look. It gives them the opportunity to spend more quality time with guests during the cocktail hour and lets them relax a little more as the day goes on.
Here are some of my favorite images from the day:
OPEN POSTMonique and Alex were married at the State Room in downtown Boston on September 11th. It isn’t a popular wedding date, so I love that they chose it and wanted to create new, beautiful memories from it. They truly exceeded their expectations for the day, filling it with much joy and genuine laughter. It’s weddings like theirs that remind me of how lucky I am to have the opportunity to share in these moments with my clients and their families.
While the marriage was the reason for celebration, the fact that Monique’s father could be there with them was something Monique also wanted to celebrate. Her father has battled cancer for the last nine years, and I knew how important it was for Monique to have photos of them together on her wedding day. It was such an honor for me to capture those moments for her!

OPEN POSTMin and Richie have been together for a long time, so when they got engaged at the end of August I was SO excited for the opportunity to document this milestone for them. Min and I went to college together, and despite both of us being psychology majors and it being a small school, we never really hung out until we met up in Cambridge several years later. Since then, I’ve also met Richie, and I’ve learned that in addition to being super cool individuals, together they are pretty darn adorable. :)
I think my engagement sessions are pretty informal already, but this one felt even more laid back and personal than usual. Min and Richie invited me into their (new!) home so we got a few cozy images there before heading to Harvard to get some shots near the Charles River just as the sun was going down.
Remember how I said they are adorable? Here is the evidence:
OPEN POSTI’m excited to finally share these images from Phiyen and Jackson’s wedding back in August! They actually had two ceremonies: a Vietnamese ceremony and a Chinese tea ceremony. Both ceremonies were very similar in that they involved gift-giving, ancestral blessings, other blessings and speeches from family members, and tea. Because they took place in both the bride and groom’s homes and involved the family, the ceremonies felt so personal and intimate and were filled with so many tears. I felt incredibly honored to be there to witness and capture everything for them.
After the ceremonies, we headed to the Arnold Arboretum for formal portraits and then to Kowloon restaurant in Saugus for their reception. Here are some of my favorite images from the day..!
